Agricultural lending company Rabo AgriFinance works with farmers to grow food around the world – and today the company’s employees went to work packing meals for kids in Haiti. The packing teams are working with Kids Against Hunger to pack more than 160,000 meals to distribute to the kids who need them most.
“Our employees work with farmers and ranchers every day and are very involved in the actual production of the safe, abundant and nutritious food we enjoy here in the U.S.,” notes Rabo AgriFinance CEO Rob van Zadelhoff. “It’s really important for all of us to have the opportunity to contribute to distributing food to kids who are in situations where they don’t have access to safe, affordable food.”
More than 500 Rabo AgriFinance employees worked to pack the meals, which consist of rice, vegetables and vitamin powder – all items that can be easily prepared and absorbed by small bodies that may be suffering from malnutrition.
“We see evidence every day of the life-saving effects of the Kids Against Hunger food for the children who eat it, says Nick Yaksich, CEO of Kids Against Hunger Freedom Foods. “The stand-out difference of the Kids Against Hunger food is that, by eating it, starving children not only survive, they begin to thrive.”
